ABOUT US

Audio Port Acoustics developed from years of extensive research and experience in the audio field. Founded by Lawrence M. Port with 40 years of experience in the audio, video and lighting and 20 years’ experience as a disc jockey. Developing and manufacturing throughout the years he one day met Richard Dalbec of Dalbec Audiolab the designer and builder of the famed “Studio 54” system). Together they developed an incredible new speaker line.

Mr. Dalbec and Lawrence M. Port set out to design and build a speaker system using Dalbec’s patented LQt technology that is lightweight, highly efficient and sonically pure. We call it the Ethan 8. What happened next was unbelievable. I started testing the system in auditoriums, bars and nightclubs. Finally on the boardwalk of Coney Island in Brooklyn, we were able to really test the system to concert levels. I found the system was remarkably efficient, across the horizontal plane, and produced incredible detail, imagery and transparency. I was able to accomplish this on one 20 amp outlet. It was so compact; we fit the whole system in a GMC Safari mini- van. I couldn’t deny the fact that what I heard was unprecedented. I called Richard and said to him “we really have something here. I’m coming up to you, you must really hear this”. We trucked up to his home, set up the system on his field. Again, what we heard was unprecedented. We even pulled out the old Studio subs and older (larger and heavier) speakers to compare. The Ethan 8 stood its ground. An incredible speaker for its size and weight. The police came by from miles away and asked that we turn it down. We were playing only four 50 lb Ethan 8 speakers on stands plus subs all on one 15 amp outlet- just incredible.

I started out to just build a speaker for myself. We redeveloped and re-designed the Ethan 8. We now would like to share it with the world. It has now developed to full scale production. We believe that the world will see and hear the advantages of Audio Port Acoustics and LQt technology.

Next, Mr. Dalbec and I designed and built a stage sub-woofer I call it the Miki stage sub to keep up with the mid/high speakers. These turned out to be incredible also and are now in production. We will be debuting our speakers and our “Acoustic Engine” at the DJ expo in Atlantic City this year (2016).

The Acoustic Engine is our landmark interface/ processing and power rack. It is quite remarkable and different from anything else on the market today. It enables ease of use and quick set-up and breakdown. It is lightweight (weighs like a powered speaker), has a very small footprint and can sustain a concert system of 2500 people.

We hope you love music and quality audio as much as we do. We believe music should touch you deeply and our systems do just that. I believe our love for the industry and our talents have created a system that fills a real hole in the marketplace. We look forward to serving you and welcome your comments.
